International AHC Day January 18 2026
(Updated: ) 2 minutes reading
Every year on January 18, we come together to raise awareness of Alternating Hemiplegia of Childhood (AHC). This day reminds us of the importance of informing, supporting, listening, and acting together.
On International AHC Day, we aim to:
This year for AHC Day, AHC Europe joined the Hands of Hope campaign created by AHCF, a global campaign uniting the AHC community through a simple, powerful symbol — hands — to showcase connection, inclusion, and strength.
In the weeks leading up to January 18, families, patient organizations, and supporters around the world come together for a shared international campaign to build momentum and raise awareness before AHC Day.
On January 18, the collective image created from all submitted photos will be shared widely across international channels — a powerful reminder that no family faces AHC alone.
Beyond the campaign, we're creating beautiful keepsakes that honor every family's contribution and preserve this historic moment in AHC history.

Every gesture matters. Every hand extended brings hope.
